Time for a weekly check in with the Swede and prospects in Manchester.
This feature, which has run twice, will now post weekly. So let's find out these Los Angeles Kings prospects fared this week. The dates are from Monday Nov. 10 - Sunday, Nov 17, 2014.
Modo did not have a good week, losing both its game in regulation after returning from a short break. Swedish model turned hockey player Adrian Kempe picked up a secondary assist on William Nylander's goal, the only one Modo scored in their return from the break.
Kempe was held scoreless in Modo's second game, in which they rallied from a two goal deficit but fell with 35 seconds in regulation with Leksand IF scored.
In those two games, Kempe's saw a lot of ice time, raising his average from 16:11 to now 16:35, almost a full minute up from his average ice time at the beginning of the season (15:43).

Up Next: Modo plays three times this week on the 18th (home), 20th (away), and 22nd (home).

The Manchester Monarchs swept the weekend and extended their win streak to a season high five games.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
Berube picked up his first shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over division rival Portland Pirates (Arizona Coyotes). Sean Backman (not a prospect) scored the game winning goal six minutes into the first period. The PK was put to the test early when Auger was called for slashing at 8:25. They then proceeded to follow that up by taking three more penalties in a row.
Auger got his second goal of the year in the second period while Miller and Weal put the final nails in the coffin early in the third period with their fourth and third goals respectively.
Something interesting to note: Nick Shore had two assists in this game, his second straight multi-point game and third in his last four contests.
Friday, Nov. 14
The Monarchs faced another difficult division rival in the Worcester Sharks (San Jose Sharks), but Weal's two goals in the first period and two important empty net insurance markers from Backman and Shore sealed the deal.
David van der Gulik (remember him?) opened the scoring just a minute in when he tipped in Miller's shot. Weal scored two goals in 2:33, one at even strength and one on the much maligned power play.

Saturday, Nov. 15
On Mullet Night, the Monarchs bested the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins), whose goalies have stymied Manch in the recent past.
The P Bruins jumped out to an early 2-0 lead 12 minutes into the first. But less than three minutes to go, Auger found a loose puck in the slot and halved the Monarchs' deficit.
Forbort got his first two goals of the season one minute and 19 seconds apart, a beautiful backhand shot from the low slot and a wrister through a screen.
Shore and LoVerde decided to join the goal scoring fun late in the third period, with both goals coming less than 5 minutes before the game ended.

Sunday, Nov. 16
The Monarchs were back on the road Sunday, this time against the Hartford Wolfpack (New York Rangers). It was another come-from-behind victory for the Monarchs as they put themselves in a hole by taking multiple penalties in the first period. (Yes, this team is scarily like the big club with regard to their lack of discipline).
Hartford's first goal came on a 5-on-3 advantage with Weal and Miller in the penalty box. Mersch tied the game for Manchester with less than 5 minutes to go in the first period. Shore scored a go-ahead goal just a couple minutes into the second period but Hartford tied it again 50 seconds into the power play. Just over midway through the period, Hartford added their first even strength tally. Weal made up for his two penalties by scoring the game-tying-goal on the power play in the third period. With just a couple minutes to go in regulation, Weal nearly ended the game but rang the puck off the crossbar.
In OT (three minutes of 4v4, four minutes of 3v3), there was a flurry activity and Bartosak was sharp, stopping a clear breakaway in the first part of OT. Brian O'Neill got the game-deciding-goal at 5:55 of overtime.
Up Next: Manchester will take on Worcester on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 10 AM for Education Day. That's their only home game this week as they have back-to-back games on the road this weekend.
