Majors trio combines for six points to take playoff opener 4-1 over Belleville – Winnipeg Free Press
The Mississauga St. Michael’s line of Jordan Mayer, Maxim Kitsyn and Mika Partanen combined for six points as the Majors beat the Belleville Bulls 4-1 Thursday to take Game 1 of the best-of-seven OHL Eastern Conference quarter-final playoff series. Kitsyn and Partanen each scored once and Mayer assisted on both of them and also set up Rob Flick for a second-period power-play goal. Partanen also had an assist on the Kitsyn goal. “I think the three of us are skilled guys and we have speed,” said Mayer. “It helps to have two big wingers like that, and because of our speed we seem to be able to spend most of our shifts in the other team’s end of the ice.
