Game Day Watch, 11/20: Los Angeles Kings @ Anaheim Ducks

HOW TO WATCH

Game Time: 5:00 PM Pacific
TV: Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket
Radio: KABC AM 790
Stream: Fox Sports Go (requires cable subscription)

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

if you’re a Kings fan: The stat we’ve driven home a few times already: every winning AND losing streak for the Kings has been three games or longer. It’ll stop at some point, but hopefully not today.

if you’re a Ducks fan: Anaheim practiced 3-on-3 overtime situations yesterday, at length. Since the institution of 3-on-3 the Kings are 16-4 in games ending in overtime, while the Ducks are 4-10. The two teams have never played 3-on-3; if it happens, can the Ducks force a different result?

if you’re a hockey fan: It’s the last game of the day, so neutral fans might be tuning in to see if the rivalry between Anaheim and Los Angeles tilts back in LA’s direction for once. The Kings haven’t won a season series against the Ducks since winning five of six in 2011-12, and they’ve already lost the first matchup this season. (Playoff series, of course, are a different story.)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

for the Kings: Jeff Carter. Nine points in his last nine, goals in consecutive games, and a productive November while Anze Kopitar has been either ineffective or injured. Since joining the Kings in 2012 he’s got six goals and eight points in 22 regular season games against Anaheim.

for the Ducks: Ryan Kesler. Four goals in his last four games and six in his last six, with three of those coming on the power play. Since joining the Ducks in 2014 he’s got eight goals and 12 points in 11 regular season games against LA.

LEAGUEWIDE WATCH

After the Vancouver Canucks blew a 3-0 third period lead to Chicago, we’re watching to see when Willie Desjardins becomes the first casualty of his terrible team. (And this article was written before that game happened!) [National Post]

WATCH THIS

Obviously, something from 2014. Here’s the one game of that playoff series where all the goals were scored by Kings in today’s lineup:
