Los Angeles Kings to host Nashville Predators for 2019-20 home opener

While we still have to wait to discover the full schedule for the Los Angeles Kings’ 2019-20 season, we can add two more dates to the books:

Wednesday, October 9: The Kings will be the Vancouver Canucks’ opponent on their opening night, meaning that the Kings will start their season on the road. With Calgary and Edmonton both having opening nights prior to the 9th, its highly likely that the Kings take a swing through western Canada, potentially visiting those teams before heading to Vancouver.

Saturday, October 12: After the anticipated western Canada trip, the Kings head home to greet the Nashville Predators. This will be the Predators’ first time as a home opener opponent for the Kings. And it gets better — it’s not just any old home opener, it’s a matinee game. That’s right, the festivities kick off at 3:00 p.m. Pacific.

A Saturday matinee home opener! Start taking bets now as to the outcome of this one, folks.

The full NHL schedule will be released on June 25 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time.

If you’re really, truly into schedules, you can tune into the NHL Network, a live stream on NHL.com or SiriusXM NHL Network Radio for a 30-minute live television show about the schedule release.

Seriously.

The Kings have already announced their preseason schedule, which features trips to play against the Arizona Coyotes, Vegas Golden Knights, and Anaheim Ducks, as well as a game against the Canucks in Salt Lake.
