Kings at Avalanche postponed due to COVID-19 protocols

The Colorado Avalanche have postponed their next three games, including a two-game series against the Los Angeles Kings, due to three players entering the league’s COVID-19 protocols.

Rookie defender Bowen Byram and goaltender Philipp Grubauer had previously been added to the league’s protocols. This morning, Joonas Donskoi was added to the list, bringing the team’s total to three and instigating a pause on team activities for five days. The team and league expect the team to be able to practice next Wednesday, April 21, ahead of their scheduled game against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, April 22.

This is the second shut down the Avalanche have dealt with this season due to coronavirus. The first resulted in two weeks of isolation, with five games rescheduled between February 4 and February 11.

The postponed games against Los Angeles have not yet been rescheduled.
