Los Angeles Places Defenseman Jeff Schultz on Waivers

Thanks for Bob McKenzie, we learned that LA has placed d-man Jeff Schultz on waivers.

Jeff Schultz is in the second year of a two year deal that has an AAV of 850K. He was able to clear waivers last year, and it was believed at the time that his two year deal would, with a relatively high AAV for a replacement player, ward others off making a claim on waivers. No doubt LA assumes he will have no trouble clearing waivers again. Jamie McBain, who was the seventh defenseman last season, has already cleared waivers and is playing in Ontario with the Reign.

This leaves LA with Derek Forbort as the seventh defenseman, who will likely need to unseat Brayden McNabb to draw into the lineup. That may take a while as both Muzzin and Greene seem healthy now and LA needs to work on winning games.
