Manchester Monarchs vs. Providence Bruins: Nov. 16th, 4 p.m.

The Monarchs must have gotten an earful since Wednesday.

They essentially controlled their last game against the Phantoms before collapsing in the third, giving up three unanswered goals and allowing more shots in the final period (13) than they did in the first two combined (12). Martin Jones was pulled.

Coach Mark Morris has harped on consistent effort, and injuries have of course taken their toll, but that’s the kind of game you can only walk away from being mad at yourself. They are on the road for another division game in Providence tonight.

These were last Wednesday’s lines — Muzzin was noticeably absent:

King-Loktionov-Kozun
Pearson-Cliche-Toffoli
Weal-Vey-O’Neill
Clune-Andreoff-Meckler
Deslauriers-Voynov
Hickey-Bodnarchuk
Matczak-LoVerde

Tonight’s roster notes: Backup goalie Peter Mannino is in net. Justin Johnson will play his first game. OUT: Andreoff and Meckler are scratched. Nolan has still not returned. Prokhorkin’s contract with the Kings was ruled invalid, so he is not available.

We’ll have updates as the game goes on.
