Manchester Monarchs vs. WBS Penguins, 11/2: Hello Again, Jeff Zatkoff

The Manchester Monarchs enter tonight’s contest against the Penguins (2-5-0) with one of the best winning percentages in the AHL (5-1-0). They’ve taken the Atlantic Division lead and have been impressive in their relatively light schedule. They’re picking up the forechecking style of Sutter and have established solid puck possession in most of their games. Will they be able to continue that tonight?

Jeff Zatkoff will face off against his friend and rival Martin Jones. Zatkoff posted better stats than Jones last season, but the Kings made Jones one of the playoff black aces. The Penguins roster also features big winger Eric Tangradi, who has five goals already, and promising defenseman Simon Despres.

It looks like Nikolay Prokhorkin is still with the team despite the contract dispute. We await some official word on that, but hey. I’ll take this.

Game Summary: WBS Pens 3, Monarchs 0
