Ontario Reign to Host 2020 AHL All-Star Game

The Kings took their training camp on the road today, playing in an intra-squad scrimmage in Ontario (current score: 0-0, which doesn’t feel surprising at all), giving Inland Empire fans a chance to see NHL stars, as well as many familiar AHL faces, take the ice.

Helping promote the game by bringing the Kings inland is one thing, but the team had an even bigger announcement up its sleeve: the 2020 AHL All-Star Game will be heading to Ontario.

The game, scheduled to take place at Ontario’s Citizens Business Bank Arena on January 26 and 27, 2020, marks the first time that the AHL has headed to the west coast. The event will include the AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 26. The next day will feature the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony, followed by the AHL All-Star Challenge that evening.

The 2019 edition of the AHL All-Star Game will be held in Springfield, Massachusetts, home of the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Past Kings organization representatives at the AHL All-Star Game include Brett Sutter and Cal Petersen (2018), Jonny Brodzinski and Jack Campbell (2017), Vincent LoVerdi (2017, 2016), Peter Budaj and Sean Backman (2016), and Colin Miller, Brian O’Neil, Jordan Weal, and Nick Shore (2015).

Information on tickets and event schedules will be made available in the future.
