Postgame/Rank the Players: Quick Stands Tall, Kings Surge Late

Look, I know you all think the shootout was anticlimactic after that 3-on-3 sesh, but wasn’t it beautiful? At least, Anze Kopitar‘s shot was beautiful. BEAUTIFUL.

Jonathan Quick‘s performance in the shootout was a bit more workmanlike, but it would have been hard for his three saves to stand out too much after his huge poke check prevented a seemingly certain breakaway winner for Claude Giroux in OT. Quick stopped 36 of 38 shots and certainly earned his keep down the stretch. As for the rest of the team? The Flyers were more dangerous for the bulk of the game, but after Giroux put Philly in front, all four lines contributed to consistent pressure over the rest of the third period.

So what did you think of each player on the Los Angeles Kings tonight? Give a thumbs up to any player who you thought did well, and a thumbs down to any player you thought had a rough game. (If you’re not sure or if you thought a player was “eh”, you can simply skip them.) The players will get ranked based on your votes. GO!

More to come in the recap, including how the Kings climbed back into it after falling behind with under ten minutes left. Oh, and how Milan Lucic scored a beautiful goal in the final minute to make the ending possible. BEAUTIFUL!
