What to Watch
Seems like we just did this two nights ago (we did!) and if it ends like the last one did (a 3-0 whitewash of Anaheim), most of us will have reason to smile.
The projected Kings lineups look something like this:
Grundstrom — Amadio — Wagner
Kovalchuk — A.Kempe — Kupari
Clifford — Lizotte — Lewis
Anderson-Dolan — Prokhorkin — M.Kempe
Hutton — Walker
Martinez — Roy
Ryan — LaDue
Quick
As reported by the LA Kings Insider Jon Rosen, after practice Todd McLellan said, “We’re giving everybody an opportunity to play that we feel is competing for certain positions. Now, some will say, ‘well, isn’t Tyler Toffoli competing, and Jeff Carter?’ Yeah, they are. But this is a youthful lineup that’s going to play against a pretty experienced lineup in Anaheim, and it’s by design. We’ll see what type of stress the kids can handle and how they perform, and we expect a good night from our guys.”
In the last game of consecutive night three-games-in-three-nights stretch, news of the Ducks lineup remains a bit clouded, but there are a couple of signs as to who will be on the Honda Center ice tonight, courtesy of Twitter:
Ryan Miller will get the start in goal tonight vs. L.A. That should leave it for Gibson to go on Saturday and then head into the season. Ducks will host Coyotes in exhibition finale and again in the real opener.

Eakins said Jakob Silfverberg and Josh Mahura are fine after getting dinged last night. Silfverberg could be in lineup vs. Kings. Mahura, who had his thigh wrapped up after Prout’s knee hit, won’t play.

3) Showing Jonathan Quick the Door
The Kings have set up a goaltending succession chain between Jack Campbell and Cal Petersen. The two can be starters in the league right now, but they may have to wait their turn. How long until one of them supplants Jonathan Quick?

4) The Kings Penalty Kill
STAT CHECK
Yes, it’s only preseason…
Last night, the Kings killed off all three Ducks powerplays (including 51 seconds of a 5-on-3). This pushes their preseason PK to 93.8% (15-for-16).
Last season, LA finished at 76.5%, which was 29th in the league.

5) “Entitlement”
Spent time with the @LAKings this week. The word “entitlement” came up a few times. What new coach Todd McLellan and GM Rob Blake are doing to get rid of that. #NHL https://t.co/LPMYlNcXG2
