Preview, Game Day #10: Anaheim Ducks @ Los Angeles Kings

Game Day #10: Anaheim Ducks (3-4-2) @ Los Angeles Kings (4-5-0)

How to Watch and Line Combinations

What Kings fans will be watching for: Cliche, but true: Your best players have to get your team going when you’re in a slump. Anze Kopitar had points in six of seven games before LA’s two shutout losses, and a matchup with Anaheim should get him back on the scoresheet. Last year, he had points in all five games against the Ducks, and in his career he has 59 points in 55 games against LA’s crosstown rivals.

What Ducks fans will be watching for: Rickard Rakell was fourth in scoring on the Anaheim Ducks last season, and he was sorely missed in the season’s first month. After signing on October 14, Rakell has finally worked himself into game shape, and it appears he’ll slot in on the third line tonight. They’re probably excited.

What everyone else will be watching for: The Ducks were shut out 4-0 on Friday. The Kings have been shut out twice in a row. Can anyone actually score? Also, this is an actual rivalry, and now that Oilers-Leafs is done you might as well tune in.

Stat of the Day:

Key Players: Devin Setoguchi and Rickard Rakell. Setoguchi has failed to find the net for the Kings, and it feels like his time to make an impression in LA is waning. Meanwhile, Rakell is making his season debut, and he’s going to make an impression sooner or later. Hopefully it isn’t tonight.

Prediction: LA scores, and we predictably go nuts.
