What Kings fans are watching for: LA finally got a power play goal, but that was the only real bright spot against Montreal. They got a very difficult assignment yesterday, but given that the whole year has been comprised of winning/losing streaks of three games or more, they need to start bouncing back a little more easily than they have so far in 2016-17.

What Senators fans are watching for: In the first seven games, Ottawa and their opposition combined for 47 goals (6.71 total goals per game). In the last six, Ottawa and their opposition combined for 15 goals (2.5 total goals per game). Could the Senators’ offense wake up against one of the fiercest defensive teams in the NHL?

What everyone else is watching for: In 2014-15, Erik Karlsson edged out Drew Doughty to win his second Norris Trophy. In 2015-16, Doughty managed to beat out Karlsson to win his first. The matchup of these two will be the story of every Kings-Senators matchup until the end of time.

Stat of the Day: Ottawa’s Scoring Chance For Percentage is 52.5%, about 6% higher than their Corsi For% of 46.5%. LA’s Scoring Chance Percentage is 49.7%, about 6% lower than their Corsi For% of 55.6%.

Key Players: Doughty and Karlsson. You knew this.

Prediction: We are disappointed by the lack of direct showdowns between Doughty and Karlsson, but each of them get a goal or an assist tonight.
