Rank the Players: It’s a 2-1 League

It was a game that threatened to sink the Los Angeles Kings‘ season. All that hard work for nothing…

What’s that? Losing to the Oilers DOESN’T eliminate you from playoff contention? That’s a relief. Still happy the Kings came back in the third.

Famous Canadian Hockey Players

Give Nick Nickson and Jim Fox the credit for this one, because they were insistent that Jeff Carter’s eight-game goalless streak was going to be snapped tonight, on the evening of his bobblehead giveaway. Sure enough, after two periods of monotony and a surprise Zack Kassian goal, Carter’s line seized the day. Summary: one garbage goal from Carter off a Dwight King faceoff win, one nifty redirection of a Carter shot by King, and assists for Toffoli on both goals. That did the trick.

That was enough as Connor McDavid continued to rue the existence of Jonathan Quick, Drew Doughty played another 31 minutes along with perhaps his longest shift of the season, and a bunch of fans got a Carter bobblehead they can look at any time they feel sad. It was a messy win for the Kings, but it was a win!

More in the recap, including some irritated ranting at various forwards (probably).
