Rank the Players: LA Scores Three, Moves to 5-0 in Overtime

The Kings weren’t asking for secondary scoring tonight… they were just asking for any scoring. They will certainly take the secondary scoring, though, after three guys who had combined for one goal all year helped LA beat Pittsburgh 3-2.

Rank the Players!

The first goal was kind of silly, as Trevor Lewis passed the puck towards the goal and Marc-Andre Fleury let it go off his stick and between his legs. The second goal was much more straightforward but even more unlikely, as Matt Greene took a shot from the point that found its way in despite Fleury seeing it. The third, though… the third was gorgeous.

It was a performance with plenty bright spots (the penalty kill, the second period defense, Martinez somehow picking up two more assists), but there are still plenty of questions (struggles from Doughty and Toffoli, continued difficulties for Purcell and Setoguchi, inability to hold that lead). One question was answered, though: the Kings did in fact have goals in them.

Stay tuned for the recap!
