Rank the Players: Kings Finish Off a Scoreless, Pointless Weekend

In the dying moments of the third period, the Kings pulled their goaltender to try and get their first goal in six periods of weekend action. A shot at the empty net by Jonathan Toews hit the post, and the puck was heading harmlessly into the corner when it hit the referee’s skate and caromed directly to Marian Hossa. Hossa passed it into the net to finish off a 3-0 win and cheerfully pointed at the ref. I bring this up mostly because Tom Gilbert’s reaction pretty much says what we’re all feeling right now.

“Really?”

Rank the Kings, y’all!

Recap coming, but if you want the sneak preview… actually, you probably don’t. But it involves five penalties, a failure to test the league’s worst PK, Toews getting his first goal of the season, Budaj getting nothing for another stellar performance, an injury to Andy Andreoff (just because), and me rooting for Cleveland to win the World Series out of spite.
