Recap: Kings get Shark-bit in San Jose
This isn’t one we’ll look back on fondly.
Good Things About That Game
Kyle Clifford ensured that Martin Jones didn’t get his second career shutout by scoring late in the third period. Thanks, Kyle. Knew we could count on you. (That was Clifford’s third goal this season.)

This sequence where Drew Doughty chases after his stick much in the same way I chase after one of my cats when they’re running around the house trying to eat something they shouldn’t.

Bad Things About That Game
Everything else.
The Kings came out flat. Jonathan Quick allowed two goals on four shots in the first period; by the end of the second, that stat was four goals on 13 shots. The team totally failed to execute, and at a time where they were starting to gain momentum — the second period, before Noah Gregor scored a terrible goal — they didn’t get the save they needed from Jonathan Quick.
"Bottom line is we weren't good enough. We didn't have legs; we didn't execute passes; we were a step too slow mentally and physically." — Todd McLellan pic.twitter.com/mutSODWbLy

The Kings are back in action tomorrow night against the Winnipeg Jets at home in Los Angeles. Winnipeg shut out Anaheim 3-0 tonight. So, there’s that.
