Reign Postgame Quotes: Dowd, Forbort

Ontario Reign Insider has already collected most of the postgame quotes from last night. However, here are a couple additional quotes, including some interesting stuff from Nic Dowd about his burgeoning chemistry with Michael Mersch.

Dowd, on his linemates:

Mersch and Zykov are finding their way too, and I think it’s a learning curve for everybody no matter how long you’ve been in the league. Yeah, I think we’re starting to figure each other out a bit more and line chemistry makes a big difference. I know that I’ve got to get the puck to Merschy down low a lot more because he’s good from the goal line to the crease. Z likes to shoot the puck and I like to pass so we’re starting to figure it out a little bit more.

Dowd on his growing chemistry with Mersch:

Yeah, I think it's easy to play with [Mersch]. He passes the puck off quick. He doesn't hold onto it too long. I think the biggest thing with him is he gives the other guys around him the opportunity to make more plays...he extends a lot of plays. He creates a lot of stuff in the offensive zone, so that draws a lot of attention, allows guys to get open. Hopefully, the more and more I get to play with him, the better and better we'll get.

Forbort, on going off slowly in second period because of a shot block:

Yeah, I'm fine.

Forbort on whether or not he's back in game shape yet:

Good. It’s fun playing the heavy minutes. I feel like I’m back.
