Stare of Death; Ducks 2, Kings 1 (SO)

There’s only one thing I really want to address from the game last night against the Anaheim Ducks, and that is the the fact that the Los Angeles Kings finished off a less-than-enthusiastic performance with the lamest shootout attempts. I remember when the Kings used to have exciting shoot outs, don’t you? I mean, how can everyone have gone glove-side on Curtis McElhinney? Anze Kopitar, I can understand. He’s the first shooter, bla bla bla. Jack Johnson? I don’t think he takes into consideration the shots before him because he’s off doing his own thing. But Dustin Brown. Why did you give yourself away as you crossed the blueline? I couldn’t understand that.

Sadly, the highlight of the entire game was Raitis Ivanans and Sheldon Brookbank squaring off. It didn’t look like anything was going to happen with Ivanans giving the Stare of Death but they finally started throwing the punches after someone lost the staring contest. Anyway, if the Kings had actually won last night, I would have put in print saying they didn’t deserve the two points since they looked terrible the entire night. There’s really not much else to say about this from the eyes of a Kings fan.
