This Week in Kings (3/16/05)

The position for the Kings probably isn’t as bad as it looks at first glance. They’re one point behind the Jets for the last Western playoff spot, but not only do they have a game-in-hand on the Jets, but they’re one of the few teams the Kings would have the first tiebreaker on. The Kings have 31 ROWs, while the Jets have only 28. Also working for the Kings is that all the teams trailing them don’t have a lot of ROWs either: the Sharks are now tied with the Kings at 31, while the Avalanche have almost a staggeringly low 23 (same as the Maple Leafs! woof) and the Stars have 29. On the downside, the teams ahead of the Kings in the Pacific standings do have a sizable ROW edge, as Vancouver has 35 and Calgary has 34.

Didn’t say I this was gonna be a no text TWIK? Oops. Moving on….

That’s all for this week. Don’t forget that the Jewelcast is back tonight at 6 pacific/9 eastern! We’ll have good ‘ol Andrew Leafman on the show for the first time in seemingly years. Plus, our guest will be Derek (aka The Neutral aka the guy who runs the @fearthefin account) to discuss the NHL’s most riveting soap opera, Days of Shut His Mouth. (As the Tell Doug Turns? Emotional (Guy) Hospital? I dunno.) Should be a good time, so look for the link on the front page of this website and/or via our Twitter account, and we’ll see you then!
