28 years ago, the biggest trade in NHL history occurred, sending the Great One to California and sending the hockey world into chaos. It's always interesting to hear the man himself discuss his move down from Edmonton, and Wayne Gretzky was interviewed yesterday on the anniversary of his deal. Gretzky describes his decision to choose LA over Detroit (!) and Philadelphia, and how he wondered what he'd gotten himself into after only 9,000 people showed up to his first game in Los Angeles. Needless to say, it worked out pretty well, as Gretzky broke a number of all-time records in LA and led the Kings to their first Stanley Cup Final. He says it best: "I loved every minute." The whole interview is worth a watch above.
