Kings are still tied at 5th, three points from 4th, six points from 9th. A mere 5 points separate VAN, PHX, LAK and NSH. 17 points separate 3rd (COL) from 13th (ANA); COL is 11 points above 9th place DET; ANA is 6 points below 8th seed CGY. Any one of those 11 teams is a winning streak or losing streak away from a dramatic shift.

Tie breaker is games-played, except that the winner of the tie breaker is the team who has played more games. If this seems counter-intuitive, consider this: A team with a 10-2 record is better than a team with a 2-2 record, who is, in turn better than a team that's 0-2.
