Welcome our Two Newest Writers!

Last month we posted a call for new writers and got a great response. Thanks to everyone who applied; we hope to see you all around here in the future.

We eventually decided to add not one, but two new writers. Welcome aboard, Cole and Lamia!

Cole (username: ColeJFTC)

My name’s Cole, and I’m a thirty-something lawyer living in the Los Angeles area. I am, like many of you (yes, you!), a bandwagon Kings fan who was inspired by the 2012 Cup run. My Kings allegiance now solidified, I join you to write game recaps instead of boring legal stuff. When the Kings aren’t playing, you can find me in the cheap seats at Dodger Stadium or the occasionally more expensive seats at one of LA’s many quality eateries.

Lamia (username: lamiahajani)

My name is Lamia, I’m 20 years old, and I’m a Kings fan living in the top half of California. I grew up in several cities within Southern California and the Greater Los Angeles Area (Lawndale, Anaheim, Torrance, Cerritos, Arcadia, Oak Park, and, finally, Thousand Oaks). I’ve always been very loyal to Los Angeles, and when I was 16, I started loving hockey (and, therefore, the Kings). After growing up in Southern California and getting to watch the Kings win the Stanley Cup the year that I graduated high school, I moved to Davis for college to study women and gender studies and political science. I’m now a fan of two hockey teams: the Los Angeles Kings and the UC Davis club ice hockey team. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by a lot of fellow hockey-lovers, as well as to join JftC and be even more involved in hockey. When I’m not doing something hockey-related, I’m probably doing something related to social justice or hanging out with one of my four pets (2 cats, 1 dog, and 1 hamster).

You’ll primarily be seeing Cole writing the game recaps, while Lamia will be focused primarily on in-game updates and content. Here’s hoping they get more than three weeks of action to write about this season!
