You Again! [Game #56 Preview – PHI]

Didn’t we just do this?  I think there was a nightmarish game a while back…maybe Dec. 30th or something.  I think I blocked that out.

So, what have you been up to?  Oh, just winning a lot, chillin’ at the top of the East.  Same old same old.

Well, you’re looking good! [Really?]  Without a doubt.  Their formidable defense is complemented by balanced scoring, led by Briere (27 goals), Carter (26), Giroux (19), Richards (17), Hartnell (17), and Leino (13).  Despite their recent wins, the lines have been shuffled in an effort to get even more production.

Rookie Sergei Bobrovsky (2.48 GAA, .918 SV%) will be in net for the Flyers, while the Kings turn to Jonathan Quick.

How’s that workin’ for ya?  They don’t rely on the power play for much of their success (17.9%, 16th in the league), but they’re second in scoring at even strength.  Their PK is 9th, tied with the Kings at 83.7%.

OMG, did you hear about… Injured Kings: Parse (hip), Sturm (knee). Injured Flyers: Ian Laperriere. God, it hurts to type that.

Okay, well, nice to see you as always… season series: Flyers up, 1-0.  This blasted early game time on a back-to-back isn’t doing them any favors, but a win would be huge here.  Their rivals in the West are also piling up points (grrr, Minnesota), so they should have every motivation to battle hard.  And hey, this whole “scoring more than two goals” thing would be really nice to see continue.  Let’s see what’s left in the tank.
