Anze Kopitar named to 2020 NHL All-Star Game

Anze Kopitar will represent the Los Angeles Kings in the upcoming 2020 NHL All-Star Game, the team announced today.

With each team sending at least one representative, Kopitar was the obvious choice for the Kings. He leads the team in points (35), goals (15), and assists (20) and has easily been one of the Kings best players in yet another season which has seen them struggle on the ice.

This will be Kopitar’s fifth All-Star Game and his second consecutive trip there. He has previously appeared in the 2008, 2011, 2015, and 2018 games.

Drew Doughty will appear on the “Last Men In” ballot, which will allow fans to vote for the final representatives for each Division.

Doughty is second in scoring for the Kings, with 25 points through 41 games. He leads Kings defensemen in goals (6) and overall scoring.

The 2020 All-Star Celebration will take place January 24-26 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

Voting for the Last Men In begins on January 1 and continues through January 10.
