Kings set preseason schedule

The 2023-24 season will be here before we know it, and we’ve got the preseason schedule to prove it.

The Los Angeles Kings will play seven preseason games – nine if you include the two dates in Australia – but only two will take place at Crypto.com Arena. (Yeah, still hate writing that.)

The preseason schedule is as follows, all times Pacific.

  • Friday, September 22 – Kings vs. Arizona Coyotes – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia – 9 p.m. (9/23 at 2 p.m. local time)
  • Saturday, September 23 – Kings vs. Arizona Coyotes Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia – 9 p.m. (9/24 at 2 p.m. local time)
  • Sunday, September 24 – Kings at Anaheim Ducks – 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 27 – Kings at Vegas Golden Knights – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, September 29 – Kings at Anaheim Ducks – Pechanga Arena, San Diego – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 30 – Kings at San Jose Sharks – 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 3 – Kings vs. Anaheim at Crytpo.com Arena – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 5 – Kings vs. San Jose Sharks – Delta Center in Salt Lake City – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 7 – Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights at Crypto.com Arena – 1 p.m.

With the quick turn-around time between the Kings being in Australia, and the first US-based pre-season game, it’s a pretty safe bet to say that the 9/24 game in Anaheim is going to be nearly entirely comprised of the Ontario Reign and players who will otherwise be returned to juniors afterwards.

When the Kings played in China in 2017, their travel roster was comprised of essentially all of their NHL regulars along with some bubble players. The Australia games should give fans a fairly strong preview of what the Kings opening night roster will look like.
