135-Word Recap
With three minutes left in Arizona, it seemed like the Kings were on the way to their eighth loss in nine games, but Alex Iafallo had different ideas. The Kings first line left winger looked every bit the part scoring with 2:54 remaining in the third and then rattling home the game winner just 24 seconds into overtime. The overtime winner was Iafallo’s first hat trick in his 209 NHL-game career as the Kings outlasted the Coyotes in a 3-2 win at Gila River Arena on Thursday.
The Kings, who were 0-4-1 in the previous five games, were backed by the strong play of Jack Campbell who made 26 saves. Adin Hill made 33 saves for the Coyotes. The Kings improved to 19-28-5, while the Coyotes dropped to 26-21-6 and remain in the first wild card spot.
