What Kings fans are watching for: First Line Trevor Lewis.

What Jets fans are watching for: Auston Matthews might have scored four goals in his first game, but there’s a different rookie leading the league in goals right now. #2 pick Patrick Laine has eleven goals and is looking for more. Equally impressive: Jets center Mark Scheifele is leading the league in points.

What everyone else is watching for: How is LA going to deal with the absence of Anze Kopitar? With the team already beset by injuries and coming off of a crushing loss to Ottawa, can the Kings keep themselves from plunging further in the Western Conference standings?

Stat of the Day: Lewis is currently carrying a 35.3% on-ice Goals For percentage, easily the lowest on the team. The Kings still win the shot battle easily when he’s out there, but they haven’t gotten goals to show for it.

Key Players: Dustin Byfuglien and Drew Doughty. Doughty, unsurprisingly, is in the top three of the NHL in ice time with 27:05 per game. Byfuglien? He’s leading the way with 28:33. All the ice time hasn’t really manifested itself in production though; Byfuglien has zero goals on 42 shots, while Doughty has two on 38 shots. Who makes the difference today?

Prediction: Just… no goals allowed in the final ten seconds. Please.
