Kings-Bruins Preview: Another Bruiser

Since we last met the Boston Bruins on Temporary Coach Day…

IN: The Bruins hired Marty Turco as an emergency backup. Whoa.

OUT: Tuukka Rask (abdomen), Nathan Hornton (concussion). Joe Corvo, Mike Mottau, Trent Whitfield, and a still-recovering Rich Peverley are the expected scratches.

Enemy Reading: Stanley Cup of Chowder

Possible lineup:

Lucic-Krejci-Caron
Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
Pouliot-Kelly-Rolston
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Seidenberg
Zanon-McQuaid
Ference-Boychuk

In net: Thomas

When the Kings fired Murray in December, they were a middle-of-the-pack possession team. They’ve since climbed to the top ten, and now the top five.

The Bruins, of course, are up there too, making this homestand a minefield of tough opponents. Boston’s coach still wants to see some consistency, however, and just called out his top six after a lackluster performance against the Sharks. They should be a handful as the Kings prepare for what will likely be a second bruising game in a row.

Jonathan Quick seems to relish any chance he gets to play against fellow Olympian Thomas, the goalie he looks up to. Let’s hope every King is prepared to bring it tonight.
