LAK 4 - NAS 1; PostGame Bullets
- Drew Doughty made at least two Bobby Orr-style defenseman-in-the-crease goalie saves. Could also rebrand those Rob Scuderi - wins - a - cup saves (ask Detroit about).
- Dustin Brown was great off the scoreboard. I know he scored. But he made several great passes that didn't convert.
- Davis Drewiske, shot-blocking machine.
- Willie Mitchell, upper-body injury that's not a head injury. That's bad/GOOD. Haven't heard any update on this, but I'm wondering what Jake Muzzin is going to buy with his frequent flyer miles.
- Jonathan Bernier, quietly excellent.
- Ryan Smyth, with his Magic Johnson no-look to Justin Williams in the previous game, and his goal (rebound/blue-paint) and non-assist assist (screen on Stoll goal), is playing the best I've seen him play since he left Edmonton.
- There was one shift, in particular, in the second period, when the Handzus line was terrifyingly good. A bunch of cycling and driving to the net and maybe three good shots. No goal, but that was a "Fro-who?" shift.
- Another four day break. I hate those.
