The 24-year-old Ontario, Canada native was a surprising inclusion on the team’s roster out of training camp and played in 34 games before he went back to the Ontario Reign. He scored his first NHL goal in the team’s rout of the Montreal Canadiens on October 26 and picked up three assists during his brief NHL tenure.
With Paul LaDue already inked to his own two year contract, competition for the Kings’ blue line is nearly complete. The only restricted free agent left for Rob Blake and company to sign is Alex Lintuniemi, the Kings’ 2014 second round pick. The 22-year-old Finnish native is expected to compete for the seventh defenseman spot with LaDue, MacDermid, and Oscar Fantenberg.
