The Los Angeles Kings had been awfully quiet lately, but after trading away Ben Bishop, Rob Blake and the Kings took care of another piece of business today.
The Kings re-signed restricted free agent Tanner Pearson to a four-year deal worth $15 million. The left winger becomes the fifth-highest paid forward on the Kings and the ninth-highest paid player overall.

We’ll have some hard-hitting analysis on the deal in the next couple days, but for now, here are some comparables for the Pearson contract, from Cap Friendly. I’d be happy if Pearson provided as much value as Cam Atkinson for the next few years, that’s for sure.
At first glance, this feels about right for Pearson, who managed to produce in a big way despite getting less ice time than many of his peers. He’ll surely take on a larger role as the Kings attempt to get their offense going next season.
