NHL Entry Draft 2017: Live Updates and Thread
Follow along with the draft here! The Los Angeles Kings hold the 11th overall pick.
7:15 PM: The first round is over, and we did eventually see a trade as the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Ryan Reaves. For the Kings? It was quiet, although we did find out that Gabriel Vilardi has a German Shepherd.
We will be back tomorrow for Rounds 2-7. Many new Kings will be born.
6:05 PM: Still no trades and nothing too out of the ordinary, but the draft rolls along...

5:20 PM: Gabriel Vilardi is now a Los Angeles King.
5:05 PM: The top ten is complete, and Vilardi is still on the board! Big Michael Rasmussen, Lean Casy Mittelstadt, and Sharpshooter Owen Tippett have been selected. Our mock draft selection, Nick Suzuki, remains available, but a couple of tantalizing prospects who we didn’t think would be there... are.
4:50 PM: Five more off the board, including Heiskanen and Makar, who went third and fourth. Cody Glass became the first pick in Vegas Golden Knights history, while Swedes Elias Pettersson and Lias Andersson went #5 and #7.
4:25 PM: Nico Hischier and Nolan Patrick, to the surprise of no one, are the first two picks off the board. The New Jersey Devils made Hischier the first Swiss-born player to go first overall, while injury concerns were not enough to keep the Philadelphia Flyers from picking Patrick at #2. Now, the unpredictable picks begin; Cale Makar made a brief run at cracking the top two, while Miro Heiskanen and Gabriel Vilardi are also considered near-consensus top-five picks. Stay tuned.
