Postgame Poll: Kings stun Blackhawks on home ice
The Kings waited 38 minutes before scoring their first goal tonight. Then they quickly scored 6.
As odd of a game as it might have been, a couple underlying facts made some sense out of things. First, Corey Crawford's stratospheric save percentage of .953 while shorthanded had to come down at some point. And it started to come down tonight thanks to two LA power play goals.
The other has to do with how lackluster the Blackhawks have been sans Jonathan Toews:
So far through two games, when Toews has been on ice at evens, the Blackhawks have owned 60% of all attempts. Without Toews, just 40%.— Robert P. (@RobertJFTC) May 22, 2014
The Kings have to like this trend, especially with Kopitar having an improved performance on Toews in the WCF over last year.
