If you read past the poll: first of all, thanks! Second, I don’t usually campaign for votes, but Jonathan Quick was out of his mind tonight, in a very good way. The Kings killed five of six penalties, all of the frustrating variety, and both the PK unit and the goaltender stepped up in a big way on those penalty kills. Of course, Quick stopped 22 other shots in addition to the 11 he saved while shorthanded, and he kept the team in it when they were outshot 12-4 in the first and struggled with Nashville’s attack later on.

Of course, Quick can’t win games in OT all on his own, so take a bow, Tanner Pearson. Eight days after beating the Rangers at Madison Square Garden, he danced around the Nashville defense and fired a wrister past Pekka Rinne on the Kings’ first shot of OT.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. Back at home on Tuesday!
