The Los Angeles Kings‘ only goal of this game came after they kept New Jersey’s defensemen on the ice for 3:34. That’s what it took.
By comparison, the New Jersey Devils managed to score two simple goals, and those two goals were enough for the win. Tyler Kennedy scored during a goalmouth scramble at the very beginning of the game, John Moore looped around the net and beat Jonathan Quick in overtime, and for over sixty minutes in between, LA ran into frustration. Anze Kopitar knocked a puck in halfway through the game, sure, but as I mentioned above, they had to cycle for THREE MINUTES to do it. Almost wasn’t worth the effort.
It did get them a point, though, and hey, no more of this in 2015-16.
I don’t mean to be a hater but I cannot wait for this game to be over so I don’t have to watch a Devils game again this season.
