Regal Rundown: When in LA, we party like Kings

Hello from your new Community Editor!

I’m going to start here at Jewels From The Crown with daily posts that will bring you all of the latest news from around the world of hockey, with a special focus on making sure you don’t miss out on any coverage for your LA Kings. The comment section is open for anything you want to talk about, whether it’s one of these stories, or what I can do to help the community here at Jewels From The Crown.

Death, taxes, and the LA Kings making news because of the people attending their games. Some things are just constants, y’know?

There are probably worse ways for the Kings to wind up on TMZ (the sports edition at that, so hardly even scandalous!) than to have other rich and famous athletes chugging beer at their hockey games.

While the Kings were busy facing off against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, some of their LA sports counterparts were starting their off-season with a bang, getting in beer-chugging contests on the jumbotron during the game and providing a little extra in-arena entertainment.

Treating themselves to seats on the glass were LA Rams running back Todd Gurley and safety John Johnson, along with Dodgers players Gavin Lux, Matt Beaty and Kody Hoese. Unexplained in all of this, Rapper YG rounded out their crew for the night.

On the Schedule

It’s an off day for the Kings and a light one on the NHL schedule, with four games starting at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific, followed by the Ducks visiting the Blues just an hour behind the others. I’d probably start the night off with Canes versus Caps or Bruins at Flyers, before catching the end of Ducks versus Blues.

Here’s the full league schedule for tonight:

  • Calgary Flames at Montreal Canadiens, 7 EST/4 PST on TSN2, RDS, SNW
  • New York Islanders at New York Rangers, 7 EST/4 PST on MSG, MSG+, ESPN+
  • Boston Bruins at Philadelphia Flyers, 7 EST/4 PST on NHLN, SNE, SNO, SNP, TVAS, NBCSP, NESN
  • Carolina Hurricanes at Washington Capitals, 7 EST/4 PST on NBCSWA, FS-CR, ESPN+
  • Anaheim Ducks at St. Louis Blues,  8 EST/5 PST on PRIME, FS-MW/
