Los Angeles: The Kings’s season didn’t culminate in a postseason appearance, but that reality is not far off. Emboldened by a young and still-learning defense that includes Jack Johnson, Drew Doughty and Kyle Quincey, the Kings stayed in the playoff hunt nearly until the end. Having Justin Williams on the team from the start next season should nicely complement an offense that gets key contributions from Anze Kopitar, Alexander Frolov and Dustin Brown. If they can fill in some of the parts needed to provide a little more depth, the Kings should start making the playoffs soon.
