Doughty, Carter Named to Team Canada's Preliminary Roster for World Cup

Lots of people north of the border are obsessing over various snubs from Team Canada's preliminary roster for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Not us, though. Not only did Drew Doughty, who was a lock from the start, make the team, but Jeff Carter earned a spot among the first 16 names.
Corey Perry, Taylor Hall, and Claude Giroux didn't make the cut, but Jeff Carter did. What a beautiful day.
As we wrote a few months ago, Jake Muzzin and Tyler Toffoli were playing well enough to garner interest from the Team Canada management team. It feels like a long shot at this point for both guys -- I mean, PK Subban has to make the team, right? -- but they might still be on the radar if they catch fire over the rest of the season.
