You Again! [Game #22 Preview – CHI]

Didn’t we just do this? Yes. The Hawks beat the Kings in Chicago, 3-1, on 10/27.

So, what have you been up to? After beating the Kings, the Hawks have gone 6-7-1. The Kings, since losing to the Hawks, have gone 7-5-0, which sounds good when you put it that way; unfortunately, they did it by going 6-0 followed by 1-5.

Well, you’re looking good! [Really?] No. The Hawks are seventh in the West in the official (ESPN) standings, but 12th in WIN%, which is the biggest discrepancy of any team in the conference. The Hawks have played more games than everyone else (25; some have played as few as 20). Just looking at losses and OT/SOLs, the Hawks have blown more points than everyone in the West except EDM and ANA. Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa are scoring and playing well defensively; Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp are scoring, too, but are pretty deep in minus territory (-6, -8), as is Tomas Kopecky (-10). Duncan Keith is a -5. Hjalmarsson is a -4.

Hey, whatever happened to… Back-up Corey Crawford has better numbers than starter Marty Turco. Brian Campbell is back from injury.

How’s that workin’ for ya? Hawks’ PK is 26th in the league. However, the Kings’ PP is 20th, and 27th at home.

OMG, did you hear about… injured Kings: Alexei Ponikarovsky, Willie Mitchell, Scott Parse, maaaaybe Rob Scuderi; injured Hawks: Fernando Pisani is listed as DTD.

Okay, well, nice to see you as always… season series: Hawks up, 1-0. This is game two of four.
