Kings’ Injury Woes Continue as Kopitar Leaves Game

Jeff Zatkoff’s lower-body injury, unfortunately, may have just been an appetizer. Kopitar has left the Kings’ showdown with the Ottawa Senators with an apparent arm injury.

Anze Kopitar appeared to tweak something in his arm, along the boards, near the beginning of the third period and headed to the locker room. Kopitar returned to the bench and even took a shift — just enough to put us all at ease — before he once again went back to the room.

There is no word on the severity of the injury, and there probably won’t be for a while. In the meantime, Jeff Carter, Nic Dowd, and Trevor Lewis have been pressed into extra duty. Missing their best defensive center has already hurt the Kings, as Ottawa tied the game and broke LA’s shutout in the final four minutes.

Stay tuned.
